Your match: Birch Firewood
Birch is our easiest wood to light and produces strong heat quickly, with the brightest, liveliest flame. The trade-off is a shorter burn, so you’ll need to refuel more often than with Ash, Oak or Premium Mix — but if quick warmth and atmosphere matter most, Birch is the one to choose.
Your match: Oak Firewood
Oak gives you the highest heat and longest burn in our range, so you’ll spend less time refuelling. It takes longer to warm up than our other woods, but if long fires and sustained heat matter more to you than a quick start, Oak is the clear choice.
Your match: Ash Firewood
Ash sits comfortably between Birch and Oak: it lasts longer than Birch but is easier to light than Oak, giving you a strong balance of heat, burn time and ease of lighting. Because every log is Ash, you also get a consistent look and burning character throughout.
If you want balanced everyday performance from one known species, Ash is the match.
Your match: Premium Hardwood Mix
Premium Mix lights as easily as Birch, burns longer than Birch and delivers strong heat without Oak’s slower start. You won’t get the uniform look of a single species, but if overall performance matters more than every log being the same wood, Premium Mix gives you the best all-round balance in our range.
Your match: Birch + Oak
If you want the fastest warmth, the strongest heat, and the longest burn with minimal refuels, then you simply cannot beat Birch and Oak together, two single species of firewood. Use kiln-dried Birch to get the fire roaring quickly, bringing fast warmth and a bright, lively flame. Once it’s burning strongly, add Oak for the highest heat, longest burn and fewer refuels.
Unlike our Premium Hardwood Mix, when you add both Birch and Oak to your basket, they are delivered unmixed, so you always know which wood you’re using and can choose the right one for each stage of your fire.

Kiln-dried firewood. Quality you can verify.
Our firewood is kiln-dried to below 20% moisture, helping it light reliably and burn efficiently.
